Music production on the laptop allows for unprecedented sounds in the history of human music; never before has such tonal precision been so accessible or even possible. With one click of the mouse you have a perfect sine wave — a soothing, pure sound only replicable in the "real" world with a well-crafted ocarina or flute, maybe. Then another click and these notes are reverberating through an emulated hallway — what a pleasant, deep experience.

Composing solely through the use of a laptop is a double-edged sword insofar that the benefits of collaborative, realtime performance are made impossible. One may of course record instruments and vocals into the program or make use of features that "humanize" digital elements, but constraints are often of merit in and of themselves.

It wasn't long ago, humans were satisfied beating drums around a campfire; now we're reveling in and suffering from the rapid advancements in technology. I hope you enjoy these artistic expressions made possible by minds greater than my own.
